Industry Guest Nights

The very best way to further your career is to have your work seen live by industry Professionals. Bob Barron and Dwight Weist knew that sixty years ago when they created The Weist Barron On-Camera School. They can be credited with creating the showcase system. It’s evolved today in various forms from Equity Showcases to Industry headed seminars and workshops, or simply one-on-one ‘Meet & Greets’. WB workshops carry on the tradition by offering guest nights throughout the year, giving actors the opportunity to showcase their skills. Actors can either read commercial copy or perform a scene or monologue according to the preference of that evening’s guests. Actors start their presentation with what I refer to as ‘A minute of me’. This answers the question ‘Tell me something about yourself’ that virtually always begins any interview. Preparing our actors for the interview process is part of our workshops. In addition our guests are asked to provide written feedback on each actor’s performance. Many of the actors go on to work with, or sign with our Industry Guests.
